Goa Luxury Wedding Venue Costs: St. Regis, W, Taj Fort Aguada, Grand Hyatt and Alila Diwa Compared

Goa's luxury venue market does not publish its prices, which is exactly why families arrive with wildly different numbers in their heads. What follows is a five-venue cost comparison built from planner-published 2025-26 estimates, the only public data that exists, with every conflicting or single-source figure flagged as such. Two ground rules before the numbers: quotes vary meaningfully by dates, and 18 percent GST is typically extra on everything. For 100 guests over two nights, the market bands broadly as boutique at ₹45,00,000 to ₹65,00,000, premium five-star at ₹75,00,000 to ₹1.2 crore, and luxury five-star at ₹1.4 to 2 crore and above.

St. Regis Goa is the newest name on luxury shortlists, with 160 rooms, 46 suites and 12 pool villas on official figures, and lawns seating around 450. Here the published totals conflict widely: one planner quotes ₹1.5 to 2.5 crore for a 250-guest wedding, another publishes ₹60,00,000 to ₹1.4 crore all-in. A single source puts lawn rental at ₹5,00,000 per lawn. Our honest read is a ₹1 to 2 crore defensible band for 100 to 200 guests, stated with the caveat that estimates conflict and only a dated proposal settles it.

W Goa and Alila Diwa are the two package plays. W Goa, 121 rooms on the Vagator cliffside, has a single published destination package of ₹55,00,000 per day covering rooms, meals and venue. Alila Diwa in South Goa, 153 rooms, shows a comparable ₹50,00,000 per day package on one source, with two-day totals around ₹80,00,000 to 1.5 crore per that same source. Alila plates start near ₹3,000 but premium menus run much higher, and sources conflict on totals. Both packages are single-source figures, useful for framing, not for budgeting.

Taj Fort Aguada carries the most history and the thinnest cost data. The 143-room count is verified, the Aguada Ballroom seats 180, and the Bay View Lawn takes up to 800 seated, which makes it one of the few heritage properties that can host genuinely large lawns. The per-plate figures floating around online are unverified and look low to us, so we decline to repeat them. Taj quotes strictly on request here, and any budget built before that proposal arrives is guesswork dressed as planning.

Grand Hyatt Goa is the capacity anchor of this comparison. With 313 rooms and one of the state's largest pillarless ballrooms, it is the venue for guest lists the boutique properties cannot house. Well-sourced planner-published estimates put 150 to 200 guests over two nights at ₹70,00,000 to ₹1.2 crore, scaling past ₹2 crore for 350-plus guests. It offers no buyout, so exclusivity seekers should look elsewhere; families with 300 names on the list usually cannot.

Underneath every venue quote sit Goa's rental norms, and they explain most surprises on final bills. Five-star venue fees run ₹3,00,000 to ₹8,00,000 per event on top of rooms if you are not buying the property out. Four and five-star beach properties charge ₹2,00,000 to ₹5,00,000 per function, often waived against full room blocks, which is why block size is a negotiating lever, not just a logistics detail. Individual premium spaces range from ₹50,000 to ₹5,00,000 depending on the lawn or deck in question.

Read as a set, the five venues sort by guest list more than by prestige. Under 150 guests, W Goa and Alila Diwa deliver the most property per rupee. From 150 to 250, St. Regis and Taj Fort Aguada compete on character, with St. Regis carrying the wider and more conflicted price band. Past 300, Grand Hyatt is effectively the only room in town. The wrong choice is rarely a bad venue; it is a good venue mismatched to the list.
