Raffles Udaipur Wedding Cost: A Private Island, Priced Honestly

Raffles Udaipur is the newest entrant to Udaipur's palace-wedding market and the only one that hands you an entire 21-acre private island on Udai Sagar Lake. The verified inventory: 101 rooms on the island itself, plus 36 at the Lakeshore, 137 in all, with seated functions handling 150-300 guests. The hotel publishes no wedding rates, so everything that follows is planner-published estimation from 2025-26, with quotes that move by season and dates.

The takeover structure is the natural starting point. A two-night island takeover is estimated at roughly ₹1-1.5 crore, and a three-night buyout at ₹1.5-3.5 crore. For a private-island format, that entry point undercuts what most families expect, and it is the property's quiet advantage: Taj Lake Palace's minimum venue-and-stay commitment crosses ₹1.2 crore for two nights, and that island tops out near 160 guests where Raffles seats up to 300.

Complete wedding totals depend, as always, on scale. Planner estimates put 100 guests over two days at roughly ₹1.5-2.2 crore, and 150-200 guests at ₹1.8-3.8 crore. One premium source, however, quotes ₹4.5-6.5 crore as common for 200 guests over three nights. That is a wide spread, and we will not pretend it resolves cleanly. A young property with few completed large weddings produces scattered data; budget within the wider band until a written quote for your dates narrows it.

The per-head lines sit at the top of the Udaipur market. A single published source puts principal functions at ₹9,000-18,000 per plate, and room blocks are estimated at ₹80,000-1,30,000 per room per night. Both figures fit the brand's positioning above even its Udaipur neighbours on rack rates. Because the plate figure comes from one source, treat it as directional; what it reliably tells you is that Raffles catering will not be the cheap line in any comparison.

The two-campus layout is worth designing around. The island's 101 rooms host the inner circle in full seclusion; the Lakeshore's 36 rooms absorb the wider list, arriving by boat for functions. Done well, this gives a wedding two textures, intimate and grand, inside one booking. Done carelessly, it produces two tiers of guests and some bruised feelings. Room allocation at Raffles is a diplomacy exercise as much as a logistics one, and it deserves early attention.

The standard cautions apply with extra force here. These are estimates, not rates; the hotel publishes nothing. Peak-season Udaipur dates carry premiums the estimates above average away. And 18% GST is typically extra on hotel charges, which on a ₹2.5 crore wedding adds tens of lakhs. Given how new the property is and how wide the published spread runs, a Raffles budget should be stress-tested harder than one for its longer-established neighbours.
