Sikh Wedding Planner in Delhi NCR

The Anand Karaj is a morning ceremony with its own rules, and we plan it with the respect it deserves — working with the gurdwara, never around it. Everything else in the week, from sehra bandi to the reception, gets the full production treatment. One dedicated planning lead carries both sides of that line.

We take on 60 weddings a year — 10 dates remaining in 2026–27.

The Anand Karaj comes first

The Anand Karaj anchors the whole schedule: it is a morning ceremony that concludes before noon, and every other function bends around that fixed point. We coordinate directly with the granthi and the gurdwara committee well in advance — confirming timings, the kirtan programme, seating in the darbar hall, and how the four laavan will flow with your families' movements around the Guru Granth Sahib. Our planning lead attends the pre-wedding gurdwara visit with you, so that on the morning itself the family is present in the ceremony, not managing it. An honest note we lead with: the religious ceremony belongs to the gurdwara. Our job is everything around it, done with respect.

Working inside gurdwara rules

A gurdwara is not a venue, and we never treat it like one. Decor is limited to what the committee permits — often little or none beyond the darbar hall's own beauty, and we advise families not to push. There is no alcohol at any gurdwara function, full stop, and we schedule cocktail events well clear of the ceremony day where families prefer that separation. The details that actually decide how the morning feels are the humble ones, and they are ours to run quietly.

  • Head coverings arranged and offered gracefully to every non-Sikh and outstation guest, with a stocked basket at the entrance
  • Footwear logistics — managed deposit and retrieval so 200 pairs of shoes do not become the morning's memory
  • Langar coordination and seva etiquette briefed to guests beforehand: sitting together on the floor, accepting what is served, the spirit of it
  • Photography positions agreed with the committee in advance, so no one is waved away mid-laavan

The celebration arc around the ceremony

Around that protected morning, we build the full arc. Sehra bandi at the family home, the baraat's arrival, and the milni — where we quietly keep both families' elders matched, garlands in the right hands, and the sequence moving without a single awkward pause. The sangeet and mehndi are where our production instincts get room to run: staging, sound, choreography support, food that people talk about later. The reception is the night the couple actually experiences as a party, and we design it that way — because the ceremony was for the faith and the families, and the evening is for everyone. One team, one planning lead, both registers.

Planning from the UK or Canada

A large share of our Sikh weddings are planned from Southall, Vancouver, Brampton or Birmingham, with the family flying in ten days before the wedding. The rhythm is built for that: scheduled video walkthroughs of venues and the gurdwara, decisions batched to your time zone, vendor tastings filmed when you cannot attend, and one planning lead as the single point of contact throughout — no chasing five vendors across a nine-hour gap. We also carry the India-side family diplomacy that distance makes harder, and our travel-hospitality background means guest logistics for a hundred international arrivals is familiar ground, not a special request.

How Dream Weddings works

We carry around 60 weddings a year with a 24-person full-time team — not a freelancer network assembled per event — and every wedding gets a dedicated planning lead who stays from first call to final send-off. Budgets are honest from the first conversation: we would rather lose a mandate than open with a number we cannot defend. For Sikh weddings specifically, that honesty extends to the ceremony itself — we will tell you plainly what the gurdwara permits, what it does not, and where the production belongs. Families in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida and Chandigarh are all within our working range.

Questions

Frequently asked

Can you decorate the gurdwara for the Anand Karaj?

Only to the extent the gurdwara committee permits, and often that is minimal — many gurdwaras allow little beyond simple floral touches, and some prefer none. We ask the committee directly, follow their answer without negotiation, and put our design energy into the functions where it belongs: the sangeet, mehndi and reception. The darbar hall does not need our help to be beautiful.

What time does the Anand Karaj take place?

It is a morning ceremony that concludes before noon — typically the baraat arrives early, the milni and breakfast follow, and the laavan are completed by late morning, followed by langar. We build the entire wedding schedule around this fixed point, which usually means a relaxed ceremony day and moving the high-production celebrations to the evenings before and after.

We live in Canada — can you plan the whole wedding remotely?

Yes, and a good portion of our Sikh weddings work exactly this way. You get one dedicated planning lead, scheduled video walkthroughs, filmed tastings, and decisions batched to your time zone. Most NRI families fly in seven to ten days before the wedding for final approvals. Guest logistics for international arrivals is our home ground — we come from travel hospitality.

Can we serve alcohol at our functions?

Never at any gurdwara function — that is absolute, and we protect it. At private venues for the sangeet, cocktail or reception, it is your family's choice, and we manage licensing and service professionally. Many families keep the ceremony day entirely dry and place the cocktail evening a day earlier or later; we will schedule whichever separation feels right to both houses.
